As anticipation builds for Universal Orlando’s upcoming Epic Universe theme park, the resort is revealing new details about the Helios Grand Hotel located inside the park.

From the creative team behind the new park, the Mediterranean-inspired hotel will feature 500 guest rooms, multiple dining options, a rooftop bar with views of the park, a resort-style pool and a dedicated entrance to Epic Universe for hotel guests.

The hotel, named after the Greek sun god Helios, will be what Universal calls “the crown jewel of Epic Universe.” With themes similar the park’s Celestial Park area—which is inspired by astronomy and the constellations—Helios Grand Hotel will feature a lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The hotel’s zero-entry pool will feature underwater speakers, a hot tub and poolside cabanas for rent. Recreational activities and poolside movies will also be offered.

Other amenities include a fitness center, game room, and a Universal Orlando gift shop.

Universal says Helios will offer a variety of dining options. Flora Taverna will be a full-service restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. It will feature a open-style kitchen with live cooking and al fresco seating. For hotel guests looking for quick bites, Aurora Market will offer a coffee shop and grab-and-good food items and snacks.

Bar Helios, a rooftop lounge offering views of the park, will serve specialty cocktails and tapas. The venue will also offer views of the park, including the nighttime shows and fountain shows.

Guest rooms and suites at the hotel will “evoke the tranquility of a blissful garden,” according to Universal, with some offering views of Epic Universe. The hotel will also be the first to offer Kids’ Suites themed to “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels, Helios will be the 11th resort on Universal Orlando property. It will be part of a new hotel category—the Signature Collection—along with Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort and Sapphire Falls.

Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resort, the two other new hotels opening near Epic, will part under the new Prime Value category with Aventura. The third hotel category, Value Inns and Suites, will include Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal Endless Summer Resort’s Surfside Inn and Dockside Inn.

Earlier this year, Universal Orlando began dropping new details about the upcoming theme park, which will feature five themed lands—Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

Universal also opened an Epic Universe preview center at CityWalk in June. It features a model of the park as well as themed merchandise.
