Universal Orlando has pulled back the curtain on Stardust Racers, the new roller coaster opening at the upcoming Epic Universe theme park next year.
A behind-the-scenes video featuring Ride Guys hosts Dylan and Mike was released Friday and provides details and views of the celestial-themed coaster.
The coaster’s storyline will center around the fictional Celestians—the citizens of Celestial Park—who have learned to harness the energy of comets that they ride across the night sky.
The dual-launch racing coaster, located in the Celestial Park section of the park, will reach speeds of 62 mph and heights of 133 across 4,800 feet of track, making it the longest coaster Universal has ever created. It will also feature a maneuver Universal has dubbed the “celestial spin,” where two coaster trains will criss-cross while inverted.

“And what that allows the guest to experience is guests in one ride vehicle will be looking up.” said JC, an executive producer with Universal Creative, in the video. “The other ride vehicle inverts over the top of you, so they’re looking down, you’re looking up and then milliseconds later you reverse.”
Universal also shared a close-up view of the ride vehicles, which will light up at night to mimic a comet shooting across the sky.
Epic Universe will feature four other themed lands besides Celestial Park, including Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon—Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Ministry of Magic. Each area will feature its own attractions, shopping and dining experiences.
The new theme park is slated to open in 2025.
