Stardust Racers at Epic Universe has reopened after a weeks-long closure.

The dueling roller coaster, located in the Celestial Park section of the theme park, was running again for visitors on Wednesday.

The coaster closed temporarily in mid-February for what was supposed to be a brief refurbishment. But the closure was extended a few times

In a statement released earlier this month, Universal said the ride was undergoing a planned annual inspection and maintenance.

“We are efficiently completing the work all at once and are also making additional capacity and throughput enhancements, which I extending the temporary closure period,” Universal said.

The most recent delay had Stardust Racers reopening by April 6, but the ride began testing this weekend, signaling an earlier opening.

The coaster previously had an extended closure last year. In September, a 32-year-old man died after riding the coaster. It was closed for two weeks.

Stardust Racers opened in May with Epic Universe. The coaster features two tracks, which have the trains racing side-by-side. It reaches speeds of up to 62 mph and heights of up to 133 feet.
