Universal is taking its year-round horror attraction to another city.

Chicago will be the next site for Universal’s second Horror Unleashed, Universal Destinations & Experiences announced Thursday.

The new location, targeting a 2027 debut, will be located in a now-vacant 114,000-square-foot building the was previously used as the Tribute Distribution Center. The project is expected to created hundreds of jobs.

“We’re excited to bring this bold concept to life in Chicago, a city known for its vibrant culture,” said Page Thompson, president of New Ventures at Universal Destinations & Experiences in a statement. “We’re grateful for the city’s support as we convert this dormant site into a unique attraction that showcases our storytelling expertise and ability to deliver mind blowing experiences that shatter guest expectations.”

Horror Unleashed is inspired by Universal’s popular Halloween Horror Nights events, which feature themed haunted houses.

Universal has not yet announced themes planned for the haunted houses at the Chicago location. The company will open its first Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas in August with experiences based on “The Text Chainsaw Massacre,” “The Exorcist: Believer,” and Universal’s classic monsters.

In addition to Horror Unleashed, Universal plans to open a smaller kid-focused theme park in Texas next year as its expands its offerings to new locations.
