The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida caught fire Friday morning.
A small fire broke out on a section of the coaster’s lift hill. Orlando firefighters responded to the theme park and extinguished the fire.
Universal closed Rip Ride Rockit on Aug. 18 to make way for a new experience. The coaster is in the process of being demolished. The lift hill, where the fire broke out, is one of the last remaining pieces of the coaster.
It’s unclear what caused the fire.
