Universal Destinations & Experiences has dropped more details about its upcoming Universal Kids Resort opening next year in Frisco, Texas.
Universal Kids Resort—which was designed for families with young children—will feature seven lands based on Shrek, Minions, Jurassic World, SpongeBob and more.
On Wednesday revealed the names of the themed lands, as well as details about the park’s lineup of attractions.
The lands will include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, Nickelodeon’s Spongebob SquarePants Bikini Bottom and Isle of Curiosity.
Concept art released Wednesday shows the layout of the park and where each land will be located.

Visitors will enter first through Isle of Curiosity, which will feature Gabby’s Playhouse. The land, which is designed as a play area, will include a dance party and a meet-and-greet with Gabby.
TrollsFest will transport visitors to the Troll Kingdom, where they can meet Poppy, Branch and their friends. The land will also include a roller coaster and two interactive areas where kids can play.

In Shrek’s Swamp, visitors can meet Shrek and Fiona and take photos in an onion carriage. The land will also feature two interactive play areas—Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.
Next door will be a land inspired by another popular DreamWorks character: Puss in Boots. In Puss in Boots Del Mar, visitors can meet the adventurous cat, Mama Luna and Perrito. The land will also include carnival-style games and a swing ride.
Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay club will include a water ride, interactive play area and a special meet-and-greet with Minions characters.

In Jurassic World Adventure Camp, visitors will be able to meet a newly-hatched dinosaur or climb Lookout Towers in the play area. The land will include a few attractions—a coaster called Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, a drop ride and something called Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin.
Bikini Bottom will come to life in the SpongeBob area. Visitors can splash around in the Pineapple Paradise play area or meet SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy.
“Universal Kids Resort embodies the spirit of igniting thrill that drives everything we create—designed to bring our youngest guests and families together through play, creativity, and beloved characters and stories,” said Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, in a statement. “It’s a destination made for kids and, as a regional theme park, brings Universal’s signature storytelling to families close to home.”
The park will include sensory gardens where kids (and parents) can take a break in nature-inspired settings to “pause, reset and connect.”
Also making up the resort will be a 300-room hotel at the front of the park with its own pool and play area.
Universal Kids Resort will mark Universal’s first kids-focused resort.
The Texas park was announced in early 2023 as part of Universal’s plans to create experiences for other markets. The company also announced a year-round haunt experience in Las Vegas called Universal Horror Unleashed which opened in August.
